See below for directions on how to get here from Sydney, Newcastle and Singleton. After you turn into the Calvary Retirement Community you come to a red brick paved area in the road - stay left and continue to the end of that road going past Calvary's main office and the new construction. The Dolphin Healing Centre is the next building and you can't go any further without turning. There is a sign outside the building with dolphins on it. Park across from this and come into reception.
To Get Here From Sydney
- Travel north on the F3 Freeway (Sydney-Newcastle Freeway) from Hornsby for approximately 98kms.
- Turn left onto the Freemans Drive exit at Cooranbong.
- Carry on straight through the round-about at Freemans Waterhole, following the signposts for Kurri Kurri/Cessnock (Branxton-Toronto Rd).
- Turn left on to Lake Road, following the signposts for Cessnock.
- Travel until you enter Kearsley, after bearing right onto Allandale Road you then turn left into Caledonia Street (the primary school is on the left hand side).
- Carry on until you bear right at Cessnock Road and cross the train lines. Be mindful to stop here as coal trains use the lines at irregular times.
- Continue on until bear right into Colliery Street, Cessnock, then turn next left onto Aberdare Road, Aberdare.
- Turn right at the traffic lights into Vincent Street.
- Travel to the end of Vincent Street and turn left on to Wollombi Road at the traffic lights, veer immediatley to the far right hand lane to turn right at the next set of traffic lights into Allandale Road, Cessnock.
- Drive along Allandale Road for a little under two kilometres (1.4km past McDonalds Family Restaurant). Where the road changes into Wine Country Drive is the boundary of the Calvary Retirement Community, the entrance is on your left hand side.
To Get Here from Newcastle
- Travel to the New England Highway (towards Hexham) from Newcastle.
- Continue on past Hexham until you veer left on to John Renshaw Drive, Beresfield. (Following the signposts for Kurri Kurri.)
- Head straight through the round-about towards Kurri Kurri, continuing on John Renshaw Drive.
- Continue on to Kurri Kurri and head straight through the first two round-abouts.
- At the third round-about turn left on to Northcote Street.
- After crossing the railway line bridge, take the first left immediately after the bridge, on to Cessnock Road.
- Continue on straight through the traffic ligthts and remain on the main road through Weston, Abermain and Neath.
- Continue straight (on Maitland Road) into Cessnock until you reach the traffic lights. At the first set of traffic lights enter the right hand turning land in preparation for turning right at the second set of traffic lights onto Allandale Road.
- Drive along Allandale Road for a little under two kilometres (1.4km past McDonalds Family Restaurant). Where the road changes into Wine Country Drive is the boundary of the Calvary Retirement Community, the entrance is on your left hand side.
To Get Here from Singleton
- Travel to the New England Highway (towards Branxton) from Singleton.
- Continue on until you reach the first set of traffic lights in Branxton itself. Go to the right hand turning lane and turn right into Clift Street.
- Take the first left into Drinan Street, then first right into Bridge Street. Continue on this road, following the signposts to Cessnock.
- Continue on this road, through Rothbury and past the vineyards and Cessnock Airport until you reach Nulkaba.
- Travel past Austral Street, then Kerlew Street on your right hand side, then you'll see the cemetary to your right.
- The Calvary Retirement Community entry is on your right hand side immediately past the cemetary.
